THE COMPANY

The Guido Marsella winery was founded in 1990 in Summonte, a charming village located at the foot of Mount Partenio.

It was in the early 1990s when Guido decided to leave his work with the family business, which had been producing asphalt for over half a century, to reclaim an old family summer residence with the intention of transforming it into a winery, planting vineyards in an area where, until then, no one had even dared to consider it.

The Summonte area, with its geographical position, high altitude, and heavy, clayey, rocky soils, did not seem to have the ideal soil and climate conditions for growing grapes.

In this context, Guido embarked on an adventure that would, over time, revolutionize the world of white wines and the Summonte area.

Nearly thirty years after the company’s founding, Guido has turned his dream into reality through immense determination, and today he has expanded the estate to Summonte, covering over 25 hectares, 12 of which are vineyards.

He has carefully pursued a style that over time has become a unique expression of a single grape variety, understanding that the rhythms of that terroir and environment must be respected, patiently waiting for them to evolve without forcing them.
